Oh, Poetry, sing me to sleep
for the silence holds secrets
that I wish it would keep.
Oh, Poetry, how can I fare
with the world all dreaming
while I lay here scared?
Oh, Poetry, let’s just pretend
that my heart is still beating
and that it’s not the end.
Oh, Poetry, a lullaby sweet
with the words lost in rhythm
found in rhymes as they meet.
Oh, Poetry, promise me this
when at last I shall pass
into sleep I’ll find bliss.
Oh, Poetry, please move the weight
of my heart to my eyes
before it is too late.
Oh, Poetry, sing me to sleep
and in a beautiful dream
with the willows I’ll weep.

I am a marketing consultant and aspiring writer, with a major in English and a minor in history. I have been writing poetry consistently since my senior year of high school and have since published three poetry books and three novels. I have also written several songs and a few short stories. I also wrote and published a trilogy of novels, my Troika book series. I am currently working on a large-scale multi-book fantasy series that I am very excited about! Writing is a part of my every day, and I would have trouble finding meaning or the will to keep going without it.
