You’re dreaming of a perfect world, that’s all well and great,
but no two definitions of perfection are the same.
We can’t create a perfect world, such I hate to say,
for no two definitions of perfection are the same.
Even if one billion people seven-fold agreed
evil is in some inherent, hiding in the reeds.
People born with different skillsets and with different needs,
how then can we synchronize one unifying speed?
We are all so very different, so to me it seems
perfection would involve controlling everybody’s dreams.
Crowded are the endless protests, “Now we want some more!”
but empty are the pews and prayers of what we’re thankful for.
People riding city trains and shouting, “Save the earth!”
Who never leave their heat and lights to find out what it’s worth.
You’re fighting for a perfect world, while in your own way,
for no two definitions of perfection are the same.
If the pill is still too hard to swallow, try another day,
but no two definitions of perfection are the same.
